Testing Your Ability to Attend Virtually
Sunset Learning Institute (SLI) uses either Webex or Zoom conferencing systems to host virtual training classes, depending on the class and the intended audience. You will receive a email from sunsetlearning.com - on the Thursday or Friday before the class - to remind you to review your REGISTRATION INFO page - which will contain the Webex or Zoom conferencing link; meeting ID; and password for your specific class session - under the WEB CONFERENCE CONNECTIVITY section.Don't be concerned if this section is empty if it's a week or more before your class starts - it should be filled in by the Thursday prior to your class.Remember to monitor your REGISTRATION INFO page on a regular basis prior to the start of your class.
- Tip 1: When you join the class, ensure that your either Webex or Zoom participant name clearly identifies you by name. We use the participant list to capture attendance of the class.
- Tip 2: Please try to attend using two computer systems or a single computer system with two (or more) (large) monitors. This will allow you to watch the instructor's presentation and view your student guide on different monitors or view your lab guide on one monitor while working in the lab environment on another monitor.
- Tip 3: Close all unnecessary browsers and connections (VPN, Skype, etc.)
- Tip 4: If possible, use a hard-wired network or reliable WiFi connection
- Tip 5: Write down the instructor's email & phone number in case of unexpected connection loss

Testing Your Lab Environment Access
The AWS-BL class will require that you have an Amazon account. For the hands-on labs, your device should be able to:
- Connect to a Windows Remote Desktop using any standard RDP client
- Connect to a Linux server using any standard Terminal Emulator/SSH Client (e.g. PuTTY or MobaXterm)
- Edit commands using a text editor. A professional text editor (e.g.: NotePad++, Sublime Text, Atom) is highly recommended
